Thank you onec again, your a fountain of useful information lol, I'm serious about this, i'm talented and with my many years in customer service i'm very professional.

I shall get to work on the advertising and securing insurance, would it also be wise to apporach the bank for a buisness loan? to get me started, materials and other such needed tools?

Yes Ray... you need to advertise yourself and your business. But don't bother to spend money on newspaper ads. They just don't work.

You need large fliers with pictures of your work to post on bulletin boards and leave in offices etc.

Oh... and yes you must be able to give clients estimates. But... never put your prices on your advertising material. Every job is different and will require a good price structure.

Thank you very much for your tips, i realised about protecting myself with insurance and obviously getting permission. I have a portfolio of all the work i've done even a shcool playground mural which i helped paint. so the other prats i need are advertising and to work out a price plan?

once again thank you for all your advice

Get Professional! That's the biggest hurdle for new painters. Before you will start to get consistent jobs... you will need a portfolio, business cards and sales fliers. Until you have those three things in place... don't even think about anything else.

You must make sure you are entirely legal in your city, county and state. Before you paint in anyones home or office protect yourself.

You must have business insurance... again protect yourself.

Just because you can paint... doesn't make you a pro! Really... you have to look and act like a professional painter!

Then... and only then... should you hit the streets.

I just need to know the basics of starting out, How do i start securing jobs. i'd normally take between 3 to five days on a whole wall.
